This week we includes lectures on composition, comparative measurement and demonstrations on how to prepare your drawing and panel for the underpainting stages. There is a bonus video on setting up a still-life at home using a cardboard box, a light and some simple household objects!
Welcome back to week 2! This week we will start with a lecture on using dynamic values to create focal point in your painting and we will transfer our finished drawings and start our underpainting tonal sketch in oils!
This week we will begin by mixing a value scale in oil to begin our opaque grisaille underpainting!
This week we return to our grisaille to add final textures, details and punch up the contrast in our under painting in preparation for color glazing next week!
This week we discuss how to paint translucency and begin adding color glazes to our paintings!
This week we discuss how to paint various surface qualities in painting, such as matte or glossy textures, and we continue glazing color over our grisaille layer.
This week we bring our paintings to a finish by adding textural details and final color layers! We also discuss balancing edges and details for a composition in a digital lecture and demo!
